Pre-Sale Clean Questions & Answers

Are you getting your home ready to sell? Having the house clean and tidy for open homes can be a battle! When you’re selling your home, you want it to look the absolute best it can. Including having all fittings polished, wardrobes tidy and organised, walls and ceilings spotless and the kitchen absolutely sparkling. The good news is it’s now even easier to say goodbye to those pesky tasks and hire a trusted and efficient cleaner. Goodnest can help connect you to reliable professionals in your area who can make your home shine as bright as the day it was built.

Goodnest cleaners are reliable, trustworthy and affordable. We’ve been doing this for a while, so from experience and based on 100’s of jobs, we’ve created a price list of various pre-sale cleaning jobs so you know what to expect when hiring a cleaner.

How much do cleaning services cost?

You may have been using the same cleaner for the last few years but it doesn’t mean you’re getting the best bang for your buck. We’ve put together a comprehensive list of services and estimated pricing on each cleaning service. Please note, these prices should only be used as a guide and quotes will vary based on the actual property and individual work performed.

Pricing estimates:

  • Oven clean: $30 - $120
  • Single room: $60 - $200
  • Bathroom: $40 - $100
  • 2-bedroom home: $80 - $300
  • 3-bedroom home: $150 - $500
  • 4-bedroom home: $250 - $650

How will a professional charge me?

This will depend on a variety of factors.

  • Labour charge - this is a fixed rate, exclusive of GST, usually between $20 and $50 per hour. There tends to be a minimum first-hour charge.
  • Parts and materials - Generally cleaning equipment and products are included in the price, however it is best to clarify before hiring your pro.
  • Specialist equipment costs - if your job requires special equipment such as a carpet cleaner there may be extra charges. Make sure to discuss the pricing with your professional beforehand.
  • Travel cost (this may be included in the labour charge) - if the cleaner charges travel costs, this is usually a fixed rate depending on the area you live. Just clarify with your professional if travel time is included in their hourly rate.
  • GST - the total of 1, 2, 3 and 4 above will be added, and GST (15%) charged on the total (if applicable).

Most cleaners accept a range of payment methods, including:

  • Direct debit (Internet Banking)
  • Cheque
  • Cash with Invoice
