Water Blasting and Pressure Washing Questions & Answers

Every homeowner knows with rain and shine comes washing the house each year. Whether you’ve got mould and lichen growing on the roof or your deck is starting to get slippery, rather than getting out there and risking life and limb - hiring a professional is a must. The hardest part is finding a house washing professional you can depend on. Goodnest can help connect you to reliable professionals in your area who can fix the problem as quickly as possible.

Goodnest professionals are reliable, trustworthy and affordable. We’ve been doing this for a while, so from experience and based on 100’s of jobs, we’ve created a price list of various house washing jobs so you know what to expect when hiring an outdoor cleaning pro.

How much do house washing services cost?

You may have been using the same professional for the last few years but it doesn’t mean you’re getting the best bang for your buck. We’ve put together a comprehensive list of services and estimated pricing on each house washing service. Please note, these prices should only be used as a guide and quotes will vary based on the actual property layout and individual work performed.

Pricing estimates:

  • Mould and Lichen Removal: $150 - $500
  • Spouting Cleaning and Maintenance: $80 - $200
  • Water blasting and Pressure Washing: $50 - $600

How will a professional charge me?

This will depend on a variety of factors.

  • Labour charge - this is a fixed rate, exclusive of GST, usually between $200 and $600 depending on the size of the house or area you would like cleaned.
  • Parts and materials - if the professional has the materials with them, or if they need to pick up some extra items from a store, you will be charged for what's required. There may be a mark-up as well.
  • Travel cost (this may be included in the labour charge) - if the professional charges travel costs, this is usually charged from the time the pro leaves for your home, to when they arrive back at their base after the job. This will also include the time it takes to visit a plumbing store to get any parts. Just clarify with your professional if travel time is included in their hourly rate.
  • GST - the total of 1, 2, 3 and 4 above will be added, and GST (15%) charged on the total.

How do I pay a professional?

Most Pros accept a range of payment methods, including:

  • Direct debit (Internet Banking)
  • Cheque
  • Cash with Invoice
  • Credit Card via the plumber’s website (surcharge may apply)
  • On-site EFTPOS
