Heated Towel Rail Installation Questions & Answers

There’s nothing better than getting out of the shower or bath to a warm towel. Whether your heated towel rail just hasn’t been in order for a while or you’re looking at getting one installed to enhance your bathroom, finding a reliable and affordable electrician isn’t always a cake walk.

Goodnest electricians are reliable, trustworthy and affordable. We’ve been doing this for a while, so from experience and based on 100’s of jobs, we’ve created a price list of various residential electrical jobs so you know what to expect when hiring an electrician.

How much do electrical repairs & services cost?

You may have been using the same electrician for the last few years but it doesn’t mean you’re getting the best bang for your buck. We’ve put together a comprehensive list of services and estimated pricing on each electrical service. Please note, these prices should only be used as a guide and quotes will vary based on the actual electrical situation and individual work performed.

How will an electrician charge me?

This will depend on a variety of factors:

  • Labour charge: this is a fixed rate, exclusive of GST, usually between $70 and $100 per hour. There tends to be a minimum first-hour charge.
  • Parts and materials - if the electrician has the parts in their van, or if they need to pick up something from an electrical store, you will be charged for what's needed. There may be a mark-up as well.
  • Travel cost (this can be factored into the labour charge) - if the electrician charges travel costs, this is usually charged from the time the electrician leaves for your home, to when they arrive back at their base after the job. This will also include the time it takes to visit an electrical store to get any parts.
  • GST - the total of 1, 2 will be added, and GST (15%) added.

How do I pay an electrician?

Most electricians accept a range of payment methods, including:

  • Direct debit (Internet Banking)
  • Cheque
  • Cash with Invoice
  • Credit Card via the plumber’s website (surcharge may apply)
  • On-site EFTPOS
